Yoko’s husband, John, had been out of work for months, and the strain on their marriage was starting to show. John was a talented programmer, but he had been passed over for a promotion at his former company. He had been told that he was too old to advance in the company, and his skills were outdated.
One night, John returned home from a job interview with a new company. He was excited to tell Yoko about the job, but he was met with a surprise. His former boss, Kimura, had come to visit. John had never liked Kimura, who had always treated him with disdain.
