It all started with a phone call. My uncle, an ex-teacher, had been asked to take in his relative’s troubled young daughter for the summer. He was determined to teach her how to be a proper and respectable woman, but he hadn’t reckoned on just how difficult it would be.
At first things seemed to go well; she followed the strict schedule my uncle had set up without complaint and even seemed willing to learn more about what it meant to live responsibly. She began flirting with every man who crossed our path and making inappropriate comments whenever we were out in public together.
